Archived Records - Record Retention and Retrieval
Cases closed longer than three years may be maintained at the Federal Records Center in Fort Worth, Texas. You should contact the clerk’s office to determine if the paper file you desire is in Muskogee or if it has been
transferred to Fort Worth. Records can be retrieved from the National Archives-Federal Records Center in Fort Worth in different ways.
Order from Clerk's Office
The fee for retrieving a file from the Federal Records Center is $70.00(and $43.00 per additional box) which must be paid in advance. This fee does not include the cost of any copies. You can obtain a FRC File Request Form from the Forms - General section of our website or from the clerk's office. Use one form per case requested.
1. Payment must accompany request.
2. Orders will not be taken by phone.
3. Requests must be delivered by USPS, Common Courier, or fax.
4. Requests by UPSP or common courier may be paid by check or money order. Fax requests with copies of checks or money orders will not be processed. If you request more than one case, you should provide a separate check for each request in case one of your requests in unserviceable.
Ordering Directly from the Federal Records Center
To avoid paying the retrieval fee, you do have the option of ordering copies online or by mail/fax/email directly from the Federal Records Center. You will need the following information in order to request a file:
