Attorney Admissions

Admission of Attorneys is covered under Local Civil Rule 83.2 which states in part:

  • Roll of Attorneys. The bar of this Court shall consist of those attorneys admitted to practice before this Court who have taken the prescribed oath and submitted the required fee.
  • Procedure for Admission. To be admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, an attorney must apply for admission electronically through PACER (see instructions below).  Attorney admission to the district requires the completion of the PACER application for admission, a Certificate of Good Standing from an approved Court** and training in the CM/ECF application.  Each applicant approved for admission shall pay the applicable admission fee upon receipt of the e-mail requesting payment for such fee.  After all requirements have been met, the applicant may be admitted. 
  • Eligibility. Any member of the bar of the Supreme Court of the United States, or of any United States Court of Appeals, or of any District Court of the United States, or a member in good standing of the bar of the highest court of any state of the United States, is eligible for admission to the bar of this Court.
  • Attorneys for the United States. Attorneys who are employed or retained by the United States or its agencies may practice in this Court in all cases or proceedings in which they represent the United States or such agencies.

**Applicants for full admission must upload a Certificate of Good Standing (dated within 30 days) from one of the following:  Supreme Court, any US Court of Appeals, any US District Court or the highest Court of any state in the US.
